How do i get into Motorcycle road Racing?
im 21. I want to know the specific details on how to get into motorcylce road racing.. You know starting as an amateur and possibly earning a sponsor to go pro.. do i buy a 600cc and can i race that? do i start 125 or 250? how does my bike need to be built, or can it just be stock? can somebody please go into detail how i would go about this? thank you very much, please no smart @zzes
It all depends on where you are and what type of racing you wanted to do.
By road racing, do you mean IOM, NW200 road racing or short circuit racing, like Silverstone, Brands Hatch kind off racing ?
In the UK your starting points are Auto66 & the ACU. Their sites can be found on Google.
What bike depends on what class you want to race in.
Your age is not a problem as long as you dont want to get in to world class racing, i.e WSB or MotoGP. You are too old for that now.
The current Superstock titles are a good way to start racing as the rules state only certain levels of tuning, so it helps keep the price down.
Racing is not cheap and you will need lots of help with all the work that goes into it.
Sometimes its easier to find an already setup team that is looking for a new or another rider to join the team. However to fill these very rare seats, you have to be very fast straight away.
What kind of riding have you done in the past?
