best hardtail mountain bike in my price range?
i have about £250 to spend on a new bike i want disc brakes and only front suspension, what bike should i get and what brands.
I’d go for second hand at that price, or wait til September-October for the 08 range sell-off deals..
Bear in mind that 250 quid for a new bike will get you something that’s pretty entry level , hefty weight and low quality spec.
For that much you could get an awesome lighjtweight superfast secondhand Kona (like a Lavadome or something)…although if you’re really after something with discs and front suspension try and get a secondhand Giant XTC SX they were raved about last year and were 500-600 quid new. You might pick one up for 300??
If you really need a new bike with discs AND front suspension, the Halfords Carrera Kraken will take some beating for value if you can get one in a sale, or take a look at the Mongoose Tyax Elite, here:
